In general, merits are purchased as-is, with the following exceptions:
- Substitute Firearms, Computers, and Drive for Archery, Enigmas, and Ride where it makes sense. If it doesn’t make sense, ask, or don’t take it.
- Armed Defense, Close-Quarters Combat, Iron Stamina, and Marksmanship can only be taken up to •• by default. Any other style merit can only be taken up to •••• by default. (Become buddies with Vanguard if you want to push them higher).
- Resources now requires a scaled amount of experience: 1xp for •, 3xp for ••, 6xp for •••, 10xp for ••••, 15xp for •••••. These are absolute amounts, so for example you would pay 2xp to go from • to ••.
